Befriending & Mentoring
Befriending and Mentoring Service (for children and young people up to 16 years of age)
Delivered within our family support service, this focusses on working with young people with disabilities to help them identify and achieve the personal goals they have identified.
A worker /volunteer will be matched with the young person, meeting up together on a regular basis for 3 or 4 hours. Together they will plan how they will spend their time each session and what is required to enable the young person to become more independant and be able to access activity and go places that interest them.
The service is also available for siblings of children and young people with disablity who may benefit from 1:1 time away from the family home to do things they enjoy on a regular basis.
Befriending and mentoring is focussed on helping children achieve thier goals and is time limited to a maximum of 70 hours per child.
Please phone us on 0131 523 1322 to discuss your particular situation
